  1. Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add shallot and sugar. Sauté until shallots are golden brown, about 8 to 12 minutes. Drain shallots on a paper towel and cool. Beat together cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer in a large bowl. Add sugar, garlic powder, mustard powder and salt. Beat until well combined. Chop eggs or use an egg slicer. Gently stir eggs and shallots into cream cheese mixture. Serve atop favorite salad greens or spread on bread or a croissant. Refrigerate any leftovers.
